SigaME
SigaME Journey: follows the patient
Journey shows where each patient is in the journey, how long each step takes and where the bottlenecks are, with the patient identified only by the record number.
Who it is for and when to use it
To measure waits and bottlenecks in the emergency department, exams and the operating room, and to inform the companion without a phone call.
Journey follows the patient through steps such as emergency admission, triage, exams, imaging, the operating room and recovery. It runs on top of RTLS, which must be licensed.

What Journey delivers
Privacy first
The patient is identified only by record number. Name, tax ID and date of birth never enter the system, and every look-up of a journey is logged.
RFID wristband by default
At admission, a wristband with a low-cost passive RFID tag is linked to the record. RFID portals log passage through key areas. An additional BLE beacon is optional.
Patient board
Each patient's current step and time in the step, with a TV mode per unit.
Time targets and alerts
Each step has a time target, and the system warns when it is exceeded.
Times and bottlenecks
A report of times per step and a bottleneck view for continuous improvement.
Room status
Each room shows as occupied, in cleaning, awaiting cleaning or free.
Room turnover
A report covering patient exit, cleaning, idle time and the next patient's entry.
Companion by QR code
A page with no login and no personal data shows the current step and the typical wait, for example "usually 10 to 20 min". There is also a waiting-room display.
Optional HIS integration
Tasy, MV, Epic and others: admission, discharge and steps arrive automatically through an API or HL7 v2, using only the record number.
Steps that Journey follows
Emergency department entry
Admission and start of the journey, from the reception screen or the HIS, with total length of stay.
Triage and exams
Arrival, stay and exit through an RFID portal or BLE, to measure the wait for an exam.
Pre-op and operating room
Passage through a controlled area through an RFID portal, for a visible surgical schedule.
Recovery and return
Arrival, stay and return through RFID, BLE or Wi-Fi, to close the journey without gaps.
Works well with
- SigaME RTLS
RTLS handles location itself. Journey turns it into steps, times and rooms, which is why it requires RTLS.
- SigaME Flow
Room cleaning triggered by Flow closes the turnover cycle measured by Journey.
